Regus opens Station2Station Business Lounge in Amersfoort Central Station
Regus opens first station2station
business lounge in Amersfoort Central Station. The Amersfoort centre is
the first of eleven set to open in the Netherlands in a first phase, a
figure which is set to grow to around sixty in time.

A similar number of centres is set to
open in France, and negotiations are underway with other national rail
operators. Mark Dixon also said that this was the first railway business
centre in the world that his company was aware of, and that railways
are very much a part of the mobility chain.
“The beginning of a new chapter in the
Regus story” is how Mark Dixon, founder and CEO of the company,
described yesterday’s opening of the first ‘station2station’ centre at
Amersfoort railway station in the Netherlands. Station2station is a
joint venture between Regus and the Dutch railway operator NS, whose CEO
Michiel Noy was also present and who was clearly proud of being a part
of this brand new concept.
The business lounge in Station2Station
Amersfoort offers excellent direct train services to and from
Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Utrecht and Zwolle. You will find a spacious,
state of the art business lounge, meeting rooms and flexible
workplaces. A professional reception is also at your disposal. Regus
Station2Station offers all possible facilities for the mobile
professional worker of today. Working in noisy public areas is now the
past. By using the business lounge or your own private office where you
can meet, email, print, and conduct business your productivity will
increase.
The idea behind this concept is to
extend the Regus network right into the mobility chain. People either
waiting to catch their train, in between trains or having just finished
their journey, can simply drop in to this fully fitted centre and work
in professional surroundings. There are computer terminals, meeting
rooms, offices, ‘think pods’ and video-conferencing equipment. It is
also possible to take out a monthly subscription.
Explaining his vision of the future of work, Mark Dixon said that
technology is now changing the way people are able to work. “Companies
are looking for new ways of supporting their workforce, and this
workforce can use telephones, computers and iPads anywhere. It is no
longer necessary for everybody to go to the same building to carry out
their work. On top of this, companies are looking at ways of driving
down costs in these economically challenging times, and they are
beginning to shut down some of their fixed offices. These pressures are
not going to disappear any time soon, and this is why the future is
mobile”
Fittingly,
the presentation started with a train trip from Utrecht (NS
headquarters) to Amersfoort, with Mark Dixon, Michiel Noy and Regus
Benelux head Eduard Schaepman all on board.
